Kara Dunn On behalf of the brave men and women of the Orbital Defense Corps, allow me to extend a warm welcome. Thank you for visiting our official home on the web!

If you had asked me a year ago to predict where we as a nation — we as a people — would stand today, this is the last place I would have envisioned. If you had given me a choice of doomsday scenarios, even then, this one would have ranked low on the list. Economic collapse? That seemed almost likely. Environmental catastrophe? Still well within the realm of possibility. But this? The sort of menace usually reserved for Hollywood movies? Never in my worst nightmares. It seemed impossible.

Today we know that it is all too possible.

All the things we thought were important a year ago... we know now just how wrong we were. This attack has served as a wake-up call, a reminder that nothing is assured. For me personally, it has been a reminder of the sanctity of life. When safety is a given, it's easy to lose track of just how important every human being is. Now, with our very society threatened, nothing is as important to me as protecting my loved ones.

That is why I and so many others have volunteered to serve with the ODC, to be deployed to what would be humankind's harshest, most unforgiving frontier even if not for the threat we face. Though our fight will be a difficult one, we consider this a sacred trust, and we will fight to our last breath.

But your support is absolutely vital to the war effort. There are so many ways you can show that support, and I don't need to reiterate them here. But most importantly, I call upon you, the people of the United States, to place your trust in us. Do not give up hope that we can win this fight. Do not give in to the enemy's demands, because that will only lead to further panic and breakdown of society. Don't forget the losses we have suffered, but stand your ground and live your life without giving in to fear.

Over the last several months, I have had the privilege of meeting many of you, shaking your hands and speaking with you face-to-face. And while I supposedly was the one offering you hope, I found myself encouraged by you. We are not a weak or timid people, and I have great faith that we will weather this storm.

I hope you enjoy your visit to OrbitalDefense.com, and I hope you will return frequently for the latest news and updates. Thank you for your encouragement and support.

Sincerely,

Col Kara A. Dunn
